Seriál o osudoch slovenských a českých emigrantov zo začiatku 80-tych rokov. Dejové línie sú sústredené na osudy protagonistov odo dňa prechodu rakúskych hraníc, cez pobyt v utečeneckom tábore Traiskirchen, výsluchy a čakanie na azyl až po týždne strávené v penzióne v Rohlau - približne v čase letných prázdnin. Každý diel sa odohráva v priebehu 24 hodín a poskytuje dramaticky vhodný priestor na odhaľovanie charakterov a zauzľovanie životných peripetií.
