Italský senátor je zavražděn před jeho domovem a policie zatkla podivného muže, který měl atentát spáchat. Italský reportér najde striptéra, který tvrdí, že byl očitým svědkem atentátu a viděl, jak se ho dopustil dotyčný muž. Začíná soudní proces, při kterém svědčí proti němu a dotyčný obviněný je odsouzen k smrti. Reportérovi se celý případ nezdá, hodně věcí mu nesedí, proto začne v příběhu hledat mezery.
